Security

One of the top concerns organizations have about Learning Management Systems is data security. Will their sensitive information be exposed? Who will access their valuable online training resources? All these points are considered while choosing an LMS for organizations. At GyrusAim we understand that security is critical to you and your organization. This is a responsibility we take seriously, and we work with security assistants to stay up to date with the most recent practices in web security.

Here are a few high-level overviews of how we actively keep you and your data safe.

IP Blocker

IP Blockers prevent unwanted IP addresses from accessing your data. The admin will be able to manually add certain IP addresses to the “allowed” or “blocked” list. This ensures that cyber attackers cannot illegally view your user data or eLearning content via the LMS. The problem is that they can always use another IP address to work around the blocker, which is why it’s so important to put other preventative LMS security measures in place.

Anti-Spam

This feature prevents spam that has the potential to capture user data and compromise sensitive information from entering the LMS. This involves phishing, malware, and even ransomware. As such, your learners don’t have to worry about fraudulent spammers getting their contact details or sending them potentially unsafe emails.

Domain-Based Registrations

Learners will only be able to register for the Learning Management System through domains specified by the admin, such as a subdomain of your main corporate site or a dedicated eLearning portal. Organizations can also combine this with password-protected domains to further improve LMS security. For example, provide learners with the URL and a password they must use to access the site.

Anti-Virus

Viruses have the potential to steal sensitive information, corrupt your important data, and can cause chaos on your LMS UX. An LMS equipped with anti-virus software helps safeguard your user data and eLearning content from the most common virtual threats/viruses.

Back-Up Data Storage

The system automatically runs a data backup and also allows you to manually save the most current version of your eLearning content. As such, if your data is corrupted by any malware or is accidentally deleted for any reason, your data is still secure.

Data Encryption

Encryption guarantees that your data stays safe when it is transmitted between apps. The LMS uses the Advanced Encryption standard that enables you to transmit information from your LMS to other platforms, as well as our server. This also allows you to integrate your LMS with third-party tools without worrying about compromising your data.

GyrusAim runs behind a firewall and is updated regularly with the latest security patches.

We integrate your SSO or utilize our strong password management and secure content delivery setup. We have strong password policies and alternative means of security authentication. Your passwords are stored, hashed, and salted in encrypted servers, which means GyrusAim staff don’t know or have access to your password.

We protect your billing information

Your billing card information is transmitted, stored, and processed safely on a PCI-Compliant network, where all transactions are processed using secure encryption – it is the same level of encryption used by leading banks. We do not keep billing or card information saved on our infrastructure in any way.
