Competency Management

Competencies measure how well a person performs a given skill. Everyone has the skill of “Bowling” for example, so the problem is measuring how well one bowls (competency), not that someone can bowl (skill). Measuring competencies can be challenging and GyrusAim rises to the task by tracking:

  • Skills
  • Ratings (both increasing ratings and decreasing ratings)
  • Expiration dates
  • Knowledge (what does one know)
  • Skill (what can one do)
  • Competency mapping to jobs, organizations and certifications

Although most organizations only use one or two rating systems, GyrusAim provides for unlimited ratings to handle even the most sophisticated rating systems. Each rating system can be either ascending (meaning higher  ratings are more advanced) or descending (meaning that lower ratings are more advanced).

Competencies in GyrusAim are associated with:

  • People
  • Jobs
  • Organizations
  • Certifications
  • Learning Objects
