SCORM
SCORM is the de facto standard for integrating eLearning with learning management systems. The SCORM standard dictates how third party vendors for both content and learning management can communicate learner progress and grades with minor actions on the part of the learner. There are two versions of SCORM: the 1.2 version is the popular standard that suffices for most environment; while the SCORM 2004 version is used for more sophisticated eLearning. This standard is more of a guideline than an official ISO standard, but SCORM has reached enough popularity that most publish to it.
